Hi, it's me.
Has time gotten away from me? Absolutely; but this is quite normal for myself during tax season.
But first, let's recap!
Joe and I spent Christmas and celebrated the New Year back in California with friends and family. It was wonderful to see everyone and spend some much needed time together. Joe and I used this time to revaluate our plan to split our time between California and our new beloved Potter House. When we got back to our California farm, it was clear something felt different. We weren't *as* excited to be back in the house we just spent 2.5 years renovating. It's an intense feeling knowing that for the first time, in a very long time, Joe and I felt like we had choices. Of course we awed at the level of perfectionism, attention to detail and hard work throughout the build, but it was questionable where our souls were imbodied.
With that said, our trip to our California farm didn't last too long before we decided to head back to Potter House. Leading up to the drive back to Texas, I came down with a horrible cold, which turned out to be COVID. This forced us to forfeit seeing my Grandfather and spending my Mom's birthday with her, so instead, I bundled up and we headed out early. Special mention to Joe who drove the entire time, with a loaded 28ft trailer and for not freaking out when I looked at him and said, "I forgot the keys to the Potter House..."half way through the two day drive. Also special thanks to my Mom for grabbing the keys and to Laura for overnight them to us. The brain fog was wild. I apparently also didn't pack pajamas?
Once we got there and situated, I didn't really leave the couch for a few days. I suppose if I had to be quarantine, better to be quarantine at the Potter House and the views it has. AND, the best part? The snow and ice storm we got! To us Californians, it was exciting!
As you saw on my Instagram & Stories, we dove right into some fun and easy renovations in the Masterbath, Masterbedroom, Kitchen, Living Room, and all around outside. *If you missed any stories, all of them can be found under my saved stories on Instagram!
Right now, things are at a bit of a standstill because it's my busy season but I am hoping to post full reviews and reveals of everything we have completed over these last two months!
Right now, we are ramping up to start the loft-project in the Shop in hopes we can have it completed by year-end. We've attempted to sign on with two different architects to help with the blueprint ( Joe and I know our thresholds) with no luck. Joe and I decided if it was going to be, it was up to us. We are going to take on the project entirely and we have a good grasp on what needs to be done to reinforce the floor joists and how to maximize the space into a beautiful living quarters for my brother-in-law, Bee.
Until then, just remember I am still here, somewhere underneath my 10-key and client source documents.
